China to Allow Virtual World for its People

China has commisioned Swedish software experts MindArt to create a virtual world for their country. The company already operates the online game Entropia Universe, which is based on a fictional planet and is composed of more than 580,000 players. MindArt says that it will be able to handle 150 million gamers by August 2008, which will bring in about $1 billion in revenue every year. It remains to be seen just what slant the site will offer. We are thinking that maybe the U.S. could come up with a similar plan, so that we can take a chunk out of our deficit without raising taxes.
