Avril Lavigne has collaborated with Sally Hansen's Salon Effects brand on a new nail collection.

The singer - who designs her own fashion line Abbey Dawn - has created a limited edition selection of nail polish strips inspired by her style and music which will launch in April and come with a cuticle stick, a mini-file and buffer and instructions for at-home application.

"This is pretty much the coolest thing, because I also do clothing - I love clothing, nails and fragrance, hair, makeup, all that . I was really excited about the Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips - especially since they're superquick. You clean your nails, peel the strips and apply them, file and go. I'm superfast at it, so it takes me like five minutes to do my nails. And it's supercool because the designs that I came up with are my personal style and vibe - they're rock 'n' roll and fun and bright. You have sparkles and little stars - they are cute. For me, I'll be flying on a plane and be like, 'S**t, I need to do my nails.' I can do these on a plane; I've done them in the car. I'm a really visual person; I like creating, and I love to have fun. I think this offers self-expression, and it's a really smart, versatile way to show your style. I think my fans will really like it, because it's easy and simple and fun."

Emma Stone uses grapeseed oil instead of moisturizer.

The Amazing Spider-Man actress claims she is allergic to "almost everything" when it comes to her sensitive skin, but uses the cheap vegetable oil to stay looking fresh and blemish free: "I just use natural grapeseed oil from the grocery store on my face as moisturizer. After the shower, I pat it on, and then I'll use it throughout the day and at night."

There is one side effect of her beauty secret though, as she added, "I pretty much smell like grape all the time."

The actress - who has appeared in comedy roles for films such as Superbad and Easy A - has previously said she is not particularly vain, and doesn't always want to be sexy: "I think a lot of female actors have a real fear of not looking their best. They learn to prize their vanity over a role in which they have to look like a moron. "They're worried they'll damage their sex appeal. Thankfully, I have no problem looking like a moron!"

Henry Holland is "delighted" to have been awarded sponsorship through the British Fashion Council's Fashion Forward scheme.

The 28-year-old designer - who was joined by fellow womenswear creators Louise Gray and Mary Katrantzou and menswear designer James Long in receiving the prestigious accolade - will receive a cash prize to assist him in showcasing collections for the next two consecutive seasons at London Fashion Week.

"I'm delighted to be receiving Fashion Forward sponsorship. It is a huge accolade for the brand and I am excited about what the future holds."

Established six years ago to provide funding to emerging British design talent, the BFC's Fashion Forward sponsorship has previously been awarded to the likes of Christopher Kane, Giles Deacon, Jonathan Saunders and Erdem.

Cindy Crawford's daughter Kaia is the new face of Young Versace.

The 10-year-old child of Cindy and Rande Gerber has been praised by the brand's creative director Donatella Versace, who says the camera loves her: "Like her mother, Kaia has a very special gift. The camera really, really loves her. Having Cindy on-set for the shoot took me back to all the amazing Avedon shoots we worked on together. It was such a special treat watching Kaia walk in her mother's footsteps!"

Cindy is also delighted her daughter is following in her footsteps because she has such fond memories of being model for the Italian fashion house: "I'm so thrilled that Kaia was chosen to be part of the first Young Versace Campaign. I have so many fond memories of the times I spent with Gianni and Donatella. There is something so very special about the House of Versace."

Cindy recently claimed models had a hard time getting work as they now had to sing and act in addition to looking their best. "I just saw the CoverGirl commercial with Taylor Swift and I thought, 'Wow, it is so hard for models to get a job these days.' You have to sing and act, too. There doesn't seem to be as much work specifically just for models."

Tali Lennox's campaign for Karen Millen has been unveiled.

The daughter of Scottish singer Annie Lennox and Israeli film and record producer Uri Fruchtman is the new face of the British fashion label and creative director Gemma Metheringham is thrilled with the "uplifting" campaign featuring Tali: "To sum up the mood of the season, it is upbeat and uplifting, and this is reflected in our new campaign. Our collection has a lightness to it and, as this is the season of the separate. We are encouraging our customers to create their own looks and style using our wonderfully versatile pieces."

The 19-year-old beauty has replaced Victoria's Secret model Jessica Hart as the face of the campaign and Tali previously revealed she is thrilled with her developing career as a model because she never liked school: "I was never really the type who wanted to be at school. I don't believe in the pressure of having to follow a certain timeline. It's great when you're doing a shoot and it's something bizarre; you can feel really confident in a different character."

Dates for London and New York Fashion Weeks have changed in order to avoid a schedule conflict. NYFW will now take place from September 6 until September 13 this year while London will immediately follow from September 14 to September 18.

Moving LFW one week earlier than normal will help to avoid a clash with Milan Fashion Week which kicks off on September 19. "Both committees remain committed to finding a long term solution that would see a confirmed Fashion Season where brands and designer businesses in all four fashion capitals (New York, London, Milan and Paris), can plan for the long term and when exceptional circumstances arise there is dialogue and empathy to find a solution that works for all," said a statement from the British Fashion Council.

Steven Kolb of the Council of Fashion Designers of America added, "We've been back and forth on this. People are anxious and need to know the dates. There's no value for the cities to compete. In the spirit of working together, London and New York are in agreement that we will go in the earlier period, but with the hope that the four cities will come out of this confusion and work together to plan future show weeks. We need to begin to look at the fashion season not as individual fashion weeks, but very much as a global business."

Zooey Deschanel's style is due to her bangs and eyes. The actress - who is the face of beauty company Rimmel - uses Orible shampoo, conditioner and hairspray to keep her hair looking good, but she struggles to understand why she ever attempts to change her style because always reverts to the same look.

"I'm all bangs and eyes. There have been periods when I've grown my bangs out, but I always cut them back, so it's like, why go through the trouble?!"

The New Girl actress also believes women should be allowed to "express who they are" without thinking about what they wear, so she doesn't see a problem with females dressing in a girly fashion if that's how they want to look. "If you feel like dressing like a girl, there's nothing wrong with that. I don't know why femininity should be associated with weakness. Women should be free to express who they are without thinking, I need to act like a man, or I need to tone it down to be successful. That's a very good way to keep women down."

Kate Bosworth is releasing a series of short movies to publicize her jewelry collection. The Superman Returns actress has created designs for e-commerce brand JewelMint, and she is delighted to be merging the worlds of "fashion and film" to advertise the rings, necklaces and bracelets.

"This project gives me the opportunity to merge to worlds I love - fashion and cinema," she said.The videos have been directed by her boyfriend Michael Polish, and a new one will be released on a monthly basis.

Speaking about the collaboration previously, Kate explained she was confident of its success, as she was allowed to work with quality pieces: "I feel like we're just starting to get a really good hold on this experience."I had no interest in signing a contract that would force me to curate pieces I found horrendous."

Actress Zoe Saldana has also made an item for the brand - entitled the Zoe Bangle - which is priced at $29.99. "I wanted to be a good curator for JewelMint because I'm a good friend of Kate's and she's really talented. I love the stars, and this piece reminded me of a bracelet you never take off," she said, commenting on her design.

Kate Hudson has been named the new face of Ann Taylor. The actress will front the Spring 2012 campaign for the women's clothing line - taking over from Demi Moore - and is thrilled to have been chosen, as she has always admired the "sophisticated" brand.

"As a young girl, I looked up to the sophisticated style of Ann Taylor. So it's been very cool to see how the brand has evolved to meet the changing needs of modern women."

The campaign will see Kate wearing the label's designs in print, outdoor and online adverts with the photographs taken by Tom Munro.

Alice Dellal is the new face of Marc by Marc Jacobs. The London-based socialite, musician and model - who is known for her signature half-shaved head and punk style - has been chosen by the designer to front the campaign for his brand's Spring/Summer 2012 collection alongside Erik Andersson.

In contrast to her usual look, the 24-year-old model wears a selection of bright dresses and anklestrap shoes in the shots taken by photographer Juergen Teller.

Rihanna enjoys working out at 2am. Fitness expert Ary Nunez revealed the Bajan beauty - whom she has been working with for four years - is so dedicated to maintaining her trim figure and toned shape that she has the exercise guru on call at any time of the day in case she wants to train.

"Working with an artist like Rihanna has different demands than most. We train when she's ready...even if we're on the road and it's 2am in the morning. I'm on call 24/7 with her," she said.

During her workout sessions, the 23-year-old beauty tones her core muscles with an array of martial arts, dancing, and aerobic exercises - and Ary, who has worked with a number of celebrities, revealed the brunette singer exercises because she "loves it" rather than through necessity.

The designer of Kate Winslet's Golden Globes gown has praised her elegant style.

The Mildred Pierce actress chose a black and white Jenny Packham dress from the British designer's latest collection and Jenny revealed she was thrilled to see Kate step out on the red carpet in her gown on Sunday: "I am a huge fan of Kate's work so I was very excited. Jamie Bell has walked the runway for Prada's menswear show. Miuccia Prada - who has been at the helm of the Italian fashion house since 1978 - recruited some of Hollywood's hottest stars, including Jamie, Adrien Brody, William Dafoe and Gary Oldman, to model the Fall/Winter menswear collection at Milan Fashion Week.

Jamie, however, admitted the experience accentuated his insecurities about his looks and made him realize how "short" he actually is: "You suddenly see how short you are. You discover nervous twitches in your face you didn't know you had, and you don't know where to look."

Angelina Jolie dazzled in an Atelier Versace gown at the Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Jennifer Hudson is still trying to figure out how to dress her new figure. The singer-and-actress has lost over 80lbs since giving birth to son David in August 2009, and while she has developed a new love of fashion, she still can't decide on what look she wants to go for.

"I just love fashion now. It's so much more flexible, and there are so many more options out there now. I feel like my own little Barbie doll - I get to dress myself up. I hated heels before, but that's all I wear now. But because it's a new body, I'm trying to find out, how do I want to be perceived? Who is this new me? I knew how to be the big girl, but now I have to find out how to be this girl."

Although she is happy with her new figure, Jennifer recently revealed she was furious when she was Photoshopped by a magazine to look slimmer than she was. "It's like, 'Where's the rest of me?' They Photoshopped me probably to the size I am now on that cover, when we all know I was nowhere near that. To me, it did not send out a good message. And it did not represent me well. Kristen Stewart is to become the face of Balenciaga fragrances. The Twilight Saga actress - who has previously confessed to not knowing much about the fashion world - is excited to be involved with the "cool" brand, as she has always been a big fan of the Spanish design house.

"Balenciaga has always stood out to me. Even when I first began to consider fashion and admittedly rarely knew the brand I was wearing, I always knew and loved Balenciaga. It feels full circle to be involved with something that spoke to me then and of course continues to excite me now. The brand is just cool. That's the way it is."

Creative director of the brand Nicolas Ghesquiere admitted Kristen was great for Balenciaga because of her "progressive character": "Kristen embodies the modernity of the new Balenciaga fragrance with her unique sensibility and intelligence. Mia Wasikowska has replaced Hailee Steinfeld as the face of Miu Miu.

The Jane Eyre actress is set to star in the Spring/Summer 2012 campaign for the Italian fashion brand and the promotional shots - taken in London in December - will show Mia wearing black eyeliner, red lipstick and showcasing the latest designs along with accessories and handbags.

Hailee, 14, was recruited by Miu Miu in May but quickly ran into controversy when an image from her campaign was removed over safety concerns. The picture - taken by fashion photographer and film-maker Bruce Weber and showing the True Grit actress sitting on a train track while wiping away a tear - was blasted by the Advertising Standards Authority as "irresponsible" because it depicts a child in an unsafe location.

Mila Kunis is the new face of Christian Dior. The Black Swan actress has been signed up by the French fashion house to front its spring fashion campaign, which has been shot by Mikael Jansson.

"Mila Kunis is a very talented young actress; she embodies the true modern woman. Her performance in Black Swan was remarkable. She is very gifted. We are looking forward to a long relationship with her," said Delphine Arnault, deputy general manager at Dior.

Mila, 28, says she is still in the process of learning about fashion, but has always been a huge fan of Dior's designs: "I'm honestly just learning about fashion. In my daily life, I don't wear the most feminine pieces. But I love to feel feminine when I'm on the red carpet. I find that Dior is an incredibly grounded house. I always thought what Dior does is so sophisticated, feminine and beautiful."

She also said she enjoyed shooting the campaign, revealing, "They made me feel incredibly comfortable. I can't say it was the hardest thing to do."

Alexa Chung admits her new fashion TV show is "really intense." The British beauty - who creates her own fashion range as well as TV presenting and DJ-ing - admits "24 Hour Catwalk," where designers are challenged to create a runway collection in a day, is tough and she believes even she began to go crazy as she had to stay up as long as the contestants.

"It's a very mean show. It's really intense. There's designers - there's a first round challenge where two of them go, and then the next two are really excited and pumped to be through and then we're like, 'Wait, you have to create a collection in 24 hours'. So then they have to stay awake all through the night. It's very mean, they get very emotional. But it also involves me staying up for 24 hours too! By episode six I was losing my mind," she said when speaking about the show on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

The iconic fashion designer - who turned 65 on December 31, 2011 - thinks it is important to be sparing with facial cover ups as you get older, and she specifically believes in accentuating cheekbones: "As I get older, I've found that less is more when it comes to make up. Kim Kardashian has been targeted by PETA in the organization's latest anti-fur campaign. The animal rights group (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has singled out the 31-year-old socialite in a new print poster which depicts two scared looking fox cubs accompanied by the strap line, "Kim: These babies miss their mother. Is she on your back?"

The reality TV star is being targeted by PETA because she regularly dons fur garments, despite having spoken to the pressure group about the cruel methods in which animals are slaughtered for their pelts.

"Kim knows that animals on fur farms are beaten, electrocuted, and often skinned alive. We've explained it to her, and she's watched a video expose that was filmed inside fur farms. When Kim is ready to put an end to her relationship with fur, PETA will be happy to take her discards and donate them to the homeless," said PETA senior vice-president Lisa Lange.

Ashley Greene says it's "very cool" to appear on a giant billboard for DKNY.

The actress is the new face of the brand and says it was amazing to see her campaign be unveiled in New York's Times Square yesterday. "This is very cool. There are a lot of firsts for me here today. It's my first photo op in Times Square, my first time on one of these buses and my first billboard for DKNY Jeans. It's an exciting day. The campaign shots turned out great. They're such talented photographers and really captured the essence of New York."

Ashley is also an ambassador for Mark cosmetics and said she's happy that the two brands she works with are so complementary: "They pair together nicely. They reach the same demographic - young and carefree. And they both provide a positive message of empowerment for women."

The full DKNY advertising campaign featuring Ashley will be out beginning in early January.

Lindsay Lohan has become the new face of Jag Jeans. The actress - who recently posed naked for Playboy magazine - recently shot a campaign for the denim brand and impressed bosses with her professionalism.

"As Jag Jeans' newest endorser, Lindsay embodies the strength and fearlessness of the woman of today. She is unafraid to be who she is. She is fierce yet exudes feminine grace," a press release read. "Lindsay was so involved with the shoot that she would go as far as adjusting items on the set. She even requested scissors so she could personally fray the edges of her black crepe blouse because she believed it would look better that way. Lindsay would take a hands-on approach to her shots, as she was more than willing to change her hairstyle during mid-shoot and even used her own personal jewelry and accessories when needed."

Kate Moss is teaming up with her nine-year-old daughter to create a girls' clothing range. The supermodel and little Lila Grace are working with British high street store Debenhams on a range of "funky tweenage" designs, due for release in summer 2012.

"Lila has always loved trying on Kate's clothes and make-up, and is already really into fashion. It was mainly all her idea and Kate obviously agreed to help out as much as possible, using her contacts to land the duo a deal. Lila is adamant the range will be very traditional and English rose-esque in feel. Lila doesn't want to produce chavvy clothes. The collaboration was actually inspired by Kate's mates, Jemima French and Sadie Frost's new FrostFrench Iris and Edie capsule range of sleepwear after their daughters got involved. Kate and Lila Grace will get cracking on designs over the festive period, mulling over ideas at Kate's Cotswolds' pad," a source said.

Kate recently revealed Lila is quite "prudish" and will often tell her mother off when she doesn't take off her make-up: "I always take my make-up off, because otherwise my daughter will come in and say, 'Mummy, tut-tut'. She doesn't like it. She likes the fresh-faced, natural mummy, when I've got my hair in a bun and no make-up on. Lila is quite prudish - she'll only wear a little bit of lip gloss or something. But she is into nail art. I think Lila is beautiful - she's so innocent and has that fresh face. She's gorgeous, but obviously she is my daughter."

Sarah Burton is "glad" she agreed to take over as Alexander McQueen's creative director.

The designer - who was given the coveted role following the tragic suicide of the label's founder Alexander McQueen in February 2010 - says she was initially unsure about doing the job, but looking back, she is pleased she did.

"He was such a genius; inspiring and funny and an incredible man. I could never pretend to be him but when I look back now, I'm glad that I took the job - because it kept the studio alive in his spirit, and it kept the team together. Because what did he work so hard for all those years if it was all just going to disappear?"
