The Mikey Professional iPod Recorder is a simple mic that connects to the dock connector of an iPod classic, iPod touch, or iPod nano. Unofficially, it may also support the iPhone as well, which we will test out and put into a future episode of Bleeding Edge TV. In the meantime, check out this unboxing video of the Mikey, a product of Blue Microphones, as we give you an up-close look at the product.

We got our hands on the Hauppauge HD PVR 1212 personal video recorder, and we bring you a review of this unit in this episode. The Hauppage HD PVR 1212 connects to your HDTV peripherals using component cable, and then goes out to your display over component as well. It captures the video output live, and records it to a computer, which will then let you edit that video. Apple recently updated the Mac mini, bringing us a newly redesigned version for 2009. We picked one up, and feature it in this episode of Unboxing Live! We show you everything included in the box, and also give you a look at the device itself, which now features a mini DisplayPort connection, as well as a bunch of USB ports. You can pick up a Mac mini at the Apple Store online.

At the WWDC 2009 keynote, Apple revealed the new 13-inch MacBook Pro, bringing the aluminum MacBook into the Pro family, and also bringing back FireWire. We were able to get our hands on one of the new MacBook Pro 13-inch models, which also now include an SD card slot, and we’ve got a look at the product here for you in this episode of Unboxing Live!

We’ve had the NewerTech miniStack v3 quad interface powered hub external storage solution running for 9 months now, and we are reporting back with our review of the device. The miniStack v3 is a hard drive enclosure that had FireWire 800, FireWire 400, USB 2.0, and eSATA ports, giving you four ways to connect this external storage device to your computer. It supports Plug and Play, and is simple to set up and use. Plus, as you’ll see, it sits atop a Mac mini perfectly, hence the name miniStack. The Elgato Turbo.264 HD is a hardware video encoding stick that seems to support just about every video format under the sun, and can convert that video for use on various devices, in high definition, much faster than your Mac can do that on it’s own. We open the item up in this episode of Unboxing Live!, and whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone who works with video, or even transcodes video for use on their iPhone or other portable device.

The Griffin SmartTalk Bluetooth headset claims to eliminate background noise, and sometimes more importantly, wind noise. We are in the midst of bringing you a full video review of the SmartTalk, which you’ll find over on Bleeding Edge TV, but in the meantime, you can get a look at the device in this episode of Unboxing Live!

In this episode of Unboxing Live!, we give you a look at the Canon DM-100 microphone attachment. If you’ve ever been unimpressed by the audio quality of your camcorder recordings, adding a dedicated, external microphone might be exactly what you need. We are finally bringing you our look at the recently-updated Apple iMac early 2009 model in this episode. Not much has changed on the iMac front, although the price has gone down and the screen size has increased from 20-inch to 24-inches for the standard model. You also get the new NVIDIA graphics chipset as well, which results in a nice speed boost in the graphics department. In our first last episode, we brought you the first in our three part series on LASIK, where we hit you with our definitive LASIK FAQ video. We followed that up with our LASIK surgery video. Now we are back, and head in for the follow-up visit to see just how successful the LASIK surgery was.

We find out what it is the doctors look for in the eyes after a LASIK surgery, and also how you should care for your eyes so that you can aid in healing.

In our last episode, we brought you the first in our three part series on LASIK, where we hit you with our definitive LASIK FAQ video. At the end, we told you that in the next video, it was surgery time - and here we are.

We continue following Monica through her LASIK experience, this time bringing our cameras in the operating room. We get the scoop on the different lasers that are used, and what each one does, and the doctors go into expectations of what one would feel during LASIK surgery. Then, it’s showtime, as the LASIK surgery begins. We bring you some extreme close-ups, so if you get squeamish with these kinds of things, you may want to cover your eyes, and the eyes of your loved ones. Monica even gives us a nice voiceover during the procedure, so that she can tell us how she was feeling during the procedure itself.

In our next episode, we continue the LASIK series, as Monica goes in for her follow-up appointment.

In this first episode, Monica goes in for a pre-op consultation, and meets with the folks over at LASIK Plus. During the visit, we captured just about every question about LASIK and laser vision correction surgery that we could, and we bring you all the common questions that most people have about LASIK, in great detail. We show you everything, from the boot-up video, the new HDTV display output options, Xbox avatars, Netflix, and a whole lot more. Our early thoughts? We love it. In fact, we love it so much, that we now hate our second Xbox 360, which still has the old, busted blade interface. We want NXE on that one as well.

One thing we mentioned in the video that we need to clarify, though. As it turns out, Netflix HD streaming should be available on other Netflix-enabled hardware devices on November 19th as well, as opposed to HD streaming being exclusive to the Xbox 360 at first.
